The Princeton Review has named the University of Tennessee in Knoxville one of the top green institutions in the nation.

The rankings come from the organization's 'Guide to 361 Green Colleges: 2016 Edition.' The colleges were chosen based on a comprehensive assessment of more than 2,000 colleges.

The publications noted UT's commitment to sustainability. On campus, 19 percent of UT grads took a course related to sustainability. Plus, 42 percent of UT's energy comes from renewable resources, and the school's waste diversion rate is 25 percent.

Earlier this year, the Princeton Review also named UT one of the best universities in the country, and named it a "best value" public university.
