Knoxville — The United Way of Greater Knoxville has officially kicked off its 2018 fundraising campaign, hosting an event at Neyland Stadium where guess got to tour locker rooms and take pictures on the field.
United Way funds 120 programs through 56 partner agencies. It works to fight for the health, education and financial stability of every person in greater Knoxville.
The organization impacts the lives of more than 100,00 people in our community.
"It serves more people than will fill Neyland Stadium, so we have a real important objective and that is to raise money to help those individuals in the most need in the community," UT Chancellor Emeritus Dr. Jimmy Cheek, the UT United Way Campaign Chair, said.
The United Way's goal this year is for everyone to pitch in 10 percent more than they did last year so that they can help even more people.
