United Airlines adds more flights to Knoxville

Fliers can expect to see a few more options this football season.

United Airlines is adding more flights to Knoxville from Denver and D.C. as it works to expand flight options and seats to popular college towns for football season, according to a news release.

United will now have two daily roundtrips from Denver to Knoxville, increasing from one daily, and growing from two to four roundtrips from D.C. to Knoxville.

In addition to Knoxville, the airline is adding 2,200 daily seats nationwide. That'll add up to 204,000 total new flight seats for the season, the airline said, from September through November.

"Each fall, football fans travel from near and far to cheer on their alma matter or favorite college team," Ankit Gupta, United's vice president of domestic network, said in the release. "Football brings families, friends and classmates together for thrilling and memorable moments, which is why we've added over 204,000 seats to top college markets this fall to help our customers more easily get to these exciting games."
