KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The Knoxville Police Department and Knox County Regional Forensic Center are asking the public for help in identifying a woman whose remains were found two years ago.
The remains were found on Aug. 16, 2022, in a wooded area around E. Fourth Ave. and Third Ave. in 4th and Gill, KPD said.
Artists with the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System recently finished a facial composite of the woman. DNA samples were also submitted for forensic genetic genealogy testing, according to KPD.
The woman was around 5'1" and between the ages of 33 to 55. She had blonde hair and was wearing a black tank top, black leggings and a black hat with a Carhartt logo at the time of her death, KPD said.
Detectives and medical examiners have ruled out multiple missing persons while trying to identify the woman, according to KPD.
