GRAINGER COUNTY, Tenn. — A thirty-four-year-old man has been hurt in a boat wreck on Cherokee Lake near the Cherokee Dam, according to the New Market Volunteer Fire Department.
According to the department, the single-boat wreck happened around 6:30 a.m. Saturday near Cherokee Dam on the Grainger County side of the lake. The man reportedly hit a log in his boat during a bass tournament, flipped his boat, and hurt his arm and leg.
The man was brought to the Jefferson County side of the lake where he was transported to the University of Tennessee Medical Center in unknown condition, NMVFD said.
