KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Two men are dead and three suspects are facing charges after a shooting at the Rocky Top Apartments in North Knoxville, according to the Knoxville Police Department.
Knoxville Police identified the victims as Joshua Haley, 19, and Christian Haley, 20. They were brothers, according to police.
Dispatch said the call came in around 5:41 p.m. on Bedrock Way on Sunday.
KPD initially said two persons of interest were detained for questioning by 6 p.m. Sunday. They were interviewed by Violent Crimes Unit investigators, according to police. Later, they arrested a third suspect in connection with the case.
James Allen, 33, and another 17-year-old male were charged earlier this week with two counts of first-degree murder, two counts of especially aggravated robbery and evading arrest, according to a press release from KPD.
While being interviewed, both suspects admitted that they were robbing the victims with firearms in order to get marijuana, according to court records.
Then on Friday morning, a 16-year-old suspect was taken into custody without incident from a home on Irwin Street, according to police. He is also charged with two counts of first-degree murder and two counts of especially aggravated robbery.
At this time, the entirety of the shooting is believed to have taken place inside the residence, according to officers.
Officials said they do not believe this shooting was random. Knoxville Police are still investigating the motive and circumstances of the shooting, according to a press release.
