TVA still spilling at Norris Dam

For the first time in four years, TVA needed to lower the levels of Norris Lake for the summer season because of record rain. Thousand of visitors have made the trip to see the man-made waterfall for themselves.

TVA has been spilling thousands of gallons of water a second through the spillway gates at Norris Dam for a week, and now they're increasing it even more.

For the first time in four years, TVA needed to lower the levels of Norris Lake for the summer season because of record rain. Thousand of visitors have made the trip to see the man-made waterfall for themselves.

Now, TVA has also opened the sluice gates at the bottom of the dam, to allow even more water to spill through.

Last week, Norris Lake was about 7 1/2 half feet about normal. Now, it's down to about five feet. They will continue spilling until the lake is at its normal level, which will probably be sometime next week.
