The Tennessee Valley Authority is spilling water from nine of its dams along the Tennessee River on Monday.
This is both to create more hydroelectric power that's low-cost as well as prepare for a bit more rainfall this coming week.
According to a tweet from TVA, Fort Loudoun and Watts Bar Dam have both released some water as other dams upstream have already started to release water.
TVA says its river forecast center is also releasing the water to reduce the high water impacts along the river in West Tennessee.
