em>Philip Grey Gannett Tennessee </em>CLARKSVILLE -- Legislation designed to prevent carbon monoxide deaths was presented to Bikers Who Care club members and families of five people who died of carbon monoxide poisoning at Clarksville Speedway on Saturday, Sept. 17. The bill, known as the "BWC Five" bill, requires all rented or leased recreational vehicles to have working carbon monoxide (CO) detectors and stipulates that devices must be demonstrated to customers. The bill passed both the Tennessee state House and Senate on Monday, Feb. 28 and awaits Gov. Haslam's signature. If approved, it will go into effect on July 1. The legislation follows the deaths of five motorcyclists at Clarksville Speedway in September. All five were found dead from fatal levels of carbon monoxide in a rented recreational vehicle that had the doors and windows closed. The five victims - Jim Wall, Jon and Katy Over, Allison Bagwell-Wyatt and Tim Stone - left behind a total of 13 children. <
