ROANE COUNTY, Tenn. — The Tennessee Highway Patrol was asking for help from the public Monday after it said troopers found a woman lying in the eastbound emergency lane of Interstate 40 in Roane County.
It said she was found around a mile east of Exit 340, which leads to Rockwood Municipal Airport Road. It also said the woman was found with serious injuries and she was taken to the University of Tennessee Medical Center Sunday evening.
The THP said it was seeking information that could help troopers identify the woman and learn how she came to be lying on the side of the road. Anyone with information about the case can reach out to the THP's Knoxville District Dispatch Center at 865-544-3880, Extension 0.
