THP asks for public's help in identifying woman who died after being found on I-40

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) is looking for help identifying a woman who died after being found along I-40 in Roane County in October.

THP created a sketch of the woman to help identify the woman.

According to a press release from THP, the woman was found in the emergency lane of I-40 eastbound, about a mile east of exit 340 Rockwood Municipal Airport Road near mile marker 341, on Oct. 13 at 8:15 p.m. The woman died from her injuries at UT Medical Center. 

THP described the woman as black, 5'3" to 5'5" in height, 38 years old, weighing 170 to 175 pounds and she has a mole on the bridge of her nose. 

Investigators are actively looking for any information that might help them identify her.
