THP: 2 people dead, another injured, after car drives off Blount County road Thursday morning

BLOUNT COUNTY, Tenn. — Editor's Note: The Tennessee Highway Patrol initially sent a preliminary report that said James Hunter was 49 years old. THP later updated its release to say he was 83 years old.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol said two people were dead after a crash in Blount County Thursday morning, at around 8:52 a.m.

According to a preliminary report, the driver of the car was also injured in the crash. It said the car was a Buick and was heading west on U.S. 321 near W. Millers Cove Road when it went off the road and hit a rock and two trees. The car then rolled onto its top and came to an "uncontrolled stop."

The report said James Hunter, 83, died in the crash. It also said Teresa Hill, 65, died. Both were passengers in the car.

No charges were pending in the crash, according to the report.
