Update 1:30 P.M.: There are still more than 8,000 people without power in the Crossville area. The agency now says it expects to have power restored by 7:00 p.m.
Update 8:10 A.M.: Officials say a transformer that failed and blew up caused the power outage in Cumberland County.
The transformer is next to the Bible Baptist Church in Crossville. An official from the Volunteer Energy Cooperative said the transformer caused "a light show" when it blew up.
There are still more than 8,000 people without power in the Crossville area. The agency says it expects to have power restored by noon.
Update 7:03 A.M.: Power has been restored for nearly 10,000 people in Cumberland County after an outage early Sunday morning.
According to the Crossville/Cumberland County Emergency Management Agency, more than 18,000 people lost power early Sunday morning when a substation near Crossville went down.
The agency says the outage began around 4 a.m. and it says the power should be restored by noon.
There are about 8,000 people still without power.

According to the utility company's outage map shows about 17,500 of those outages are in Cumberland County around Crossville.
