Boys and Girls Clubs hosting performance at the Tennessee Theatre as part of art showcase

The Boys and Girls Clubs of the Tennessee Valley also said it planned to display student artwork as part of its youth art showcase.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — People in the Knoxville area will have a chance to enjoy a performance on Thursday by a group of kids eager to show off their artistic talents.

The Boys and Girls Clubs of the Tennessee Valley said it would host its annual Youth Arts Showcase starting at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday at the Tennessee Theatre. The free event includes a theatrical performance of The Drum - A Cultural Cadence. People will also have a chance to peruse a display of student artwork.

The play is inspired by a folktale about a young schoolboy who finds happiness through generosity and sharing good fortune with others.

"This story beautifully mirrors what happens behind our Blue Doors, where we embrace diversity, inclusivity, and the joy of building a community where every child feels not only welcomed but celebrated," the Boys and Girls Clubs said online.

The event is free and open to the public.
