BLOUNT COUNTY, Tenn. — A section of State Route 115 was closed Tuesday night in both directions after the Tennessee Department of Transportation said a tractor-trailer was disabled on it. By 9:30 p.m. TDOT said the road was back open.
The section of road is otherwise known as "The Dragon," and is notorious among some groups for tight turns and winding stretches of road. It is often driven by motorcyclists. TDOT said the road was closed near Mile Marker 7, at the turn onto Baumgardner Road and near Gillenwater Road.
Additional information about the disabled tractor-trailer, such as the circumstances surrounding how it was disabled, was not immediately available. This story will be updated when more information is available.
