KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency is gearing up for free fishing day on Saturday.
The agency said that anybody of any age can fish completely for free across the state without a license on June 8.
"Additionally, youth under age 15 can fish free all week from June 8-14, 2024," TWRA said. "We love seeing kids outdoors and can't wait for this weekend!"
TWRA said anglers can find free fishing events near any location using this website.
The agency said it is funded by the sale of fishing licenses. TWRA also said it has been stocking fish, working on conservation and managing waterways so all Tennesseans can enjoy this event.
The Knox County Parks and Recreation will be hosting a free fishing day event on June 8 at the Cove at Concord Park at 11808 South Northshore Drive.
