KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The Smokies' inaugural game at the new downtown Knoxville stadium is set for April 15, 2025. The team announced the 2025 baseball schedule on Tuesday.

The team will begin the season on the road, playing against the Birmingham Barons on April 4 for a three-game series, before playing a six-game series in Huntsville, Alabama, against the Rocket City Trash Pandas.

On April 15, for the Knoxville stadium's inaugural game, the Tennessee Smokies will face the Chattanooga Lookouts for another six-game series lasting until April 20.

Most of the schedule includes several six-game series, except for a three-game series set for July 4 through July 6 for Independence Day. The regular season is expected to wrap up on Sept. 14.

Full season tickets went on sale Aug. 1 at 10 a.m. Tickets range in price from $1,050 for basic season tickets, to $4,750 for club membership tickets.

The new stadium will have more seating options than the stadium in Kodak, General Manager Tim Volk said.

"We're really looking to enhance the experience downtown in 2025," Volk said. "Along with that, we'll have multiple seating options."

Excitement for the new stadium has spread across the city.

"The excitement for downtown has been astronomical. Everyone is extremely excited, and our sales team has been busy all day today," Volk said.

Local restaurant owner and long-time Smokies fan Martha Boggs said the new ballpark will make downtown better.

"A downtown with a ballpark in it is a wonderful amenity for any downtown," she said.

Boggs has been attending Smokies games for decades.

"I went to the Smokies when I was in college. And even during the World's Fair, I was a beer girl at the Smokies stadium," Boggs said.

Boggs said she and her husband had their first date at the old Smokies stadium downtown.

"Going to the ballpark is just an essential part of American life," she said.
