TENNESSEE, USA — An 18-year-old with high-risk medical condition received the COVID-19 vaccine at East Tennessee Children's Hospital.
According to a Facebook post made by East Tennessee Children's Hospital, Whitney was the first in her group of 18 and up to receive the vaccine on Monday. Karen Burchfield, RN, administered the vaccination.
Officials said that young people 16 and up with high-risk health conditions are considered to be especially vulnerable and are eligible to receive the vaccine.
