The Tennessee Department of Transportation said a crash closed eastbound lanes of Interstate 40 in Knoxville, near the split with Interstate 640.
The crash was reported at around 6:04 p.m. Eastern Time and backed traffic up for miles, backed up to near Cedar Bluff. Footage from the transportation department showed the crash happened near a bridge, and a semi-truck unmoving in the road.
