KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Drivers in the Knoxville area should plan accordingly for a ramp closure lasting throughout the weekend, starting at around 8 p.m. on Friday.
The Tennessee Department of Transportation said the ramp from I-40 East to I-640 West would be closed to traffic so crews can complete the second phase of repairs on the Rutledge Pike bridge. The ramp is at Exit 393, according to a release from TDOT.
It also said work is expected to be complete by 6 a.m. on Monday, when traffic may be able to use the ramp once again. However, the department said the schedule depends on the weather in the area, and drivers are warned to expect delays.
They should also use extreme caution while workers are present. They should slow down and leave room for crews working nearby, staying extra vigilant of debris and people as they move through work zones.
