KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — According to the Tennessee Department of Transportation, all Eastbound Lanes on I-40 at Papermill Drive are shut down after a multi-vehicle wreck.
According to TDOT, the wreck is at Mile Marker 383.2 and has all Eastbound lanes closed, including the left and right shoulder of the road. Traffic is backed up to Mile Marker 381 near Buckingham Drive as of 8:45 p.m. EDT.
The Knoxville Police Department shared the wreck on social media, asking those to seek an alternate route if possible.
KPD said all lanes were back open around 9:20 p.m. EDT.
According to KPD, two vehicles were involved in the wreck with no life-threatening injuries reported. One person had to be extricated from one of the vehicles, KPD said.
