Suspect in stolen ambulance tries to run from THP, crashes in Greene Co.

A THP trooper was able to spike the tires of the ambulance and Patrick Fults crashed into the woods, according to the report.

GREENE COUNTY, Tenn. — Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) says man facing multiple charges for stealing an ambulance in Carter County and crashing it into the woods on Saturday. 

According to a THP preliminary report, a 'Be on the Lookout' was sent out at 9:57 a.m. for a stolen ambulance out of Carter County traveling I-26 West and taking I-81 South at the interchange. 

A THP trooper caught up with the ambulance in Greene County and tried to do a traffic stop around 10:15 a.m. According to THP, the driver, Patrick Fults, 32, refused to stop and troopers pursued him. A THP trooper was able to spike the tires and Fults crashed into the woods, according to the report. 

THP says Fults was quickly taken into custody. He faces charges of auto theft, driving while revoked, reckless driving, improper passing, speeding and felony evading arrest.
