State officials still aren't sure what caused an outage Monday at Drivers License centers and other state agencies.
Lola Potter, the Communications Director for the Tennessee Department of Finance and Administration, sent a statement to WRCB explaining more about what happened.
"On Monday at approximately 11:32 a.m. CST, three of the primary servers supporting the Driver License issuance application lost their connection to the storage systems, resulting in an outage. The outage affected all locations who use the DL system, so the county clerks were also impacted.
Potter said three other state agencies were also impacted by the outage: TennCare, Children’s Services and Environment and Conservation. However, the issues did not affect customer service or business functions for those offices.
Engineering teams were able to restore service by 4:45 CST
"At this time, we do not know what caused the lost connection resulting in the system outage. We are working with vendors involved to research the root cause of the issue," said Potter.
