Snake causes KUB power outage

A power outage caused by a snake on July 14 at 1:30 a.m. caused 22,820 customers in South Knoxville to lose power for approximately two minutes.

Knoxville utility customers have lost power multiple times over the past several weeks, but not all those outages were caused by storms.

An outage caused by a snake on July 14 at 1:30 a.m. caused 22,820 customers in South Knoxville to lose power for approximately two minutes. The snake was found near the breaker box at the KUB substation in the Nixon Road area.
