CROSSVILLE, Tenn. — Local and federal law enforcement are investigating following the apprehension of a person who they called "suspicious" at Cumberland County High School Wednesday afternoon.
According to a press release posted on the Cumberland County Schools' Facebook page, a "suspicious suspect" was apprehended by an Student Resource Officer on Cumberland County High School property around 8:30 a.m. District Director William Stepp and the District Threat Task Force said there is no current threat to students.
The District Threat Task Force consists of Crossville police, Cumberland County Sheriff's Office, Department of Homeland Security, Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, 13th Judicial District Attorney's Office and Cumberland County Schools. The task force was activated and is investigating the incident.
The press release says additional updates will be made as soon as information becomes available.
