Horse Haven of Tennessee's biggest fundraiser, Dancing for the Horses, is back this year, featuring WBIR's newest reporter as a celebrity dancer.
Shannon Smith is learning how to cha-cha and raising money for horses in need as part of the event. On Saturday, she scored a perfect 10, winning in the benefit!
Horse Haven of Tennessee is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and re-homing of neglected or abused horses through shelter, adoption, education, and assistance.
Shannon is dancing for a horse named Pi, who came to Horse Haven starving and neglected.
Her fundraising goal for Pi is $5,000. So far, she was able to raise $1,250.
Shannon is a lifelong dancer and hopes she can use her passion for dance to make life better for the dozens of horses looking for permanent homes here in East Tennessee.
