DANDRIDGE, Tenn. — Tennessee Valley Authority said the Shady Grove Boat Launch in Dandridge will close Monday, Nov. 18 and will remain closed through the end of the year.
The boat launch is closing due to interagency efforts to remove disaster-related debris from Douglas Lake. The area will serve as a staging ground for cleanup work.
The state assigned TVA to coordinate debris removal and disposal efforts on Douglas Lake earlier in November. The goal is to clear debris to protect downstream infrastructure and to make sure the river is safe.
