Sevier County officials not issuing burn permits Thursday due to high fire danger warning

Low humidity and increased winds can cause fires to spread quickly, even with controlled conditions, according to the Sevier County Emergency Management Agency.

SEVIER COUNTY, Tenn. — The Sevier County Emergency Management Agency said no burn permits will be issued within the county on Thursday.

This comes after the Tennessee Division of Forestry issued a high fire danger warning for East Tennessee.

The EMA is asking people to not burn debris on Thursday. Low humidity and increased winds can cause fires to spread quickly, even with controlled conditions.
