A body found Thursday morning in Sevier County has been positively identified as a Sevier County woman reported missing last month.
A search team found Jennifer L. Holmes's body near a cell tower site on Newport Highway Thursday morning, according to the Sevier County Sheriff’s Office.
The team had been in the area looking for Holmes after investigators said new details showed she might have been last seen in the area.
Holmes was reported missing on April 16 by a family member. Investigators previously said the 39-year-old was last seen in the New Center area of Sevier County on Feb. 28.
The medical examiner hasn't determined the cause of death yet. The case is still under investigation.
