Sevierville PD looking for info in reported roadside shooting

The victim said he was sitting beside the road when he heard gunshots, then realized he had been shot.

SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. — Sevierville Police are investigating after a man said he was shot while sitting beside the road.

Officers were called to LeConte Medical Center last Tuesday night, February 5, after they were notified that a man was being treated for a gunshot wound.

The man told officers that he was sitting beside the intersection of Candy Tuft Drive and Ridge Road at about 10 p.m. that night, when he heard what sounded like gunshots.

He then said he realized he'd been shot.

Witnesses in the area also reported hearing what sounded like several gunshots.

The victim said the gunshots may have come from a silver two-door sedan.

The man's injury was not life-threatening, and he was treated and released from the hospital.
