SEVIER COUNTY, Tenn. — The Tennessee Highway Patrol said a 19-year-old is facing charges of following too closely after a crash in Sevier County injured two people Friday. One of the injured people is a juvenile, according to a preliminary report.
It said the 19-year-old rear-ended the other car as it slowed down for stopped traffic on the road. Both its 53-year-old driver and 8-year-old passenger were injured.
The 19-year-old was not injured, according to the report.
The report said the crash happened at around 1:47 p.m. on Friday, on Newport Highway.
