Sevier Animal Care Center asking for donations to finish, furnish new shelter facility

According to the center, the shelter is on track to open in March 2025.

SEVIER COUNTY, Tenn. — The Sevier Animal Care Center said its new shelter facility is officially in the works. However, the group asked for donations to help get items such as security cameras, furniture, security pole lights, exam tables and more.

According to the center, the shelter is on track to open in March 2025. The animal center also said there are opportunities for people to sponsor a kennel, room, doggie play yard and even a park bench.

"We're gonna have more capacity and we're gonna be able to help in more ways than we can here. So, it's super exciting," said Mandy Rush, who works with the animal center. "We can't house as many as we'd like to here, because it's a garage. The other struggle that we have is the ventilation. There's no proper to block off ventilation, so sicknesses can travel if we don't have an actual isolation area."

Links to donate can be found on the center's website.

SACC said building donations can also be made at the shelter or via mail to 1040 Dolly Parton Parkway in Sevierville.

It offers a variety of services, such as microchipping and pet re-homing. The center also offers chances for people to volunteer.

Did you hear?! Our new shelter facility is in the works, and we need YOUR help! Our new shelter is on track to open in...
