KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — A Knoxville native is among four farmers appearing on a reality TV show that follows men in search of a relationship.
Mitchell Kolinsky, 27, will appear in the second season of Farmer Wants a Wife. It's set to air on Feb. 1 at 9 p.m. and he will be joined by Ty Ferrell, Brandon Rogers and Nathan Smothers — other farmers in similar situations. They have backgrounds in cattle ranching as well as citrus, potato and barley farming, along with horse training.
Kolinsky grew up in Knoxville with his parents and two brothers who have white-collar careers as a doctor and a financial advisor, according to a press release about the show. However, he became a first-generation farmer. In a video from the show, he said he bought his own farm which includes a cabin.
"I don't want to be 40 and single. I do believe matches are made in heaven, and that God has a special woman out there for me," he said in the video.
He currently lives with his three dogs, and his property is shared by wildlife, according to the release. He dreams of becoming a horse and cattle rancher, the release said.
The show pairs the farmers with five women. The farmers then show the group their lifestyles and talk about what they want in a relationship, before ultimately deciding on a partner.
