A 9-month-old was inside when the car was stolen, but was reportedly found unharmed.

COLUMBIA, S.C. — Columbia police are asking for the public's help to locate a man they say stole a car from a local fast-food restaurant.

The car was stolen from the Chick-Fil-A  in Five Points Saturday morning. Police say the owner had left the car running.

A 9-month-old was inside when the car was stolen, but was reportedly found unharmed. The baby is now safe "in the arms of his mother," according to a tweet by Columbia police.

Police are now actively looking for the suspect, 26-year-old David Rodgers Monts. He may still be driving the stolen car, which is a silver 4-door Mercedes, possibly a 3-series.

Monts is also wanted on a firearms violation in Mecklenburg County.
