Technology has continued to evolve through the years. ScreenX technology is a newer technology in the movie industry.
Now, ScreenX is coming to Regal cinemas. The technology was created in 2012.
It uses multiple projectors on the walls of the movie theater to create a different viewing experience for viewer.
There are currently only 142 ScreenX locations worldwide with only three in the United States. The U.S. locations are based in Los Angeles and Las Vegas.
Cineworld is looking to add 100 more ScreenX locations across the United States.
While there aren't any in East Tennessee yet, there are a lot of regal cinemas, including its headquarters. It's safe to say that the technology would find a good home here in Knoxville.
