(WBIR) A Kentucky man is in jail after a Tennessee Highway Patrol trooper found a kilogram of meth in a car during a traffic stop in Campbell County.
The trooper pulled over Michael Hill, 42, of Versailles, Ky., Tuesday evening on I-75 northbound at the exit ramp of mile marker 156. He was pulled over for several traffic violations.
During the stop, the trooper found Hill was driving with a suspended license and was on parole for cocaine trafficking.
After arresting Hill for driving on a suspended driver's license, the trooper began to take inventory of the vehicle before it would be towed.
During the search, he found 2.2 lbs. of meth in a hydration bladder inside a backpack in Hill's vehicle. While looking around the vehicle, he also found a clear bag with four grams of meth that Hill had thrown. In addition, there was another cellophane bag in the vehicle with five grams of crystal meth.
Police seized the vehicle and Hill was taken to the Campbell County Jail.
He's charged with possession of scheduled II drugs with intent to sale or deliver, tampering with evidence and felony possession of drug paraphernalia. He was also charged with driving on a suspended license, following too close, inoperable tail lights and no proof of insurance.
