Knoxville police respond to crash involving school security officer Friday afternoon, no injuries reported

The Knoxville Police Department said officers responded at around 1:30 p.m. on Friday.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The Knoxville Police Department said a Knox County school security officer was involved in a crash at around 1:30 p.m. Friday afternoon.

The police department said the crash was reported at around 1:30 p.m. along the 4900 block of Kingston Pike. A spokesperson said three cars were involved in the crash, and he said the school security officer was in a marked car.

No injuries were reported and the police department said school security supervisors also responded to the crash. Knox County school security officers are distinct from school resource officers who work with the Knoxville Police Department and the Knox County Sheriff's Office, operating under different supervision.
