KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Rural Metro Fire Department and Knox County Mayor Glenn Jacobs said a Knox County Public Works salt truck overturned Tuesday morning.
The truck overturned on Berry Road. The driver was able to get out of the truck and the passenger was helped out by fire crews, according to Rural Metro.
Jacobs said the crew was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
This is the second county-owned salt truck to overturn since a winter storm hit East Tennessee on Monday, Jan. 15, according to Knox County Senior Director of Engineering and Public Works Jim Snowden.
