KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Rural Metro Fire confirmed that a fire occurred in a Halls apartment complex at 7 a.m. this morning.
When crews arrived they discovered an apartment heavily involved with fire and the occupants of all 4 apartments safely in the front yard, according to Rural Metro.
Rural Metro said that the fire did not spread into any adjacent units, however, some light smoke and water damage occurred.
The American Red Cross is helping the occupants, Rural Metro says.
The fire occurred at the 6000 block of O'Brian Road, according to Rural Metro.
Rural Metro says crews are still "mopping up" and O'Hara Road in Halls will be closed for another hour at minimum.
