Firefighters with Rural Metro stayed busy responding to two house fires in Knox County Monday night.
The first fire happened around 7 p.m. on Buckeye Road.
The woman living inside the home told firefighters she had put ashes from an earlier fire in a bucket in the carport to empty later. She was then called into work.
When she returned, she found the fire in an outside wall.
Crews quickly extinguished it. They said it caused minor damage.
No one was hurt in that fire.
The second fire burned the side of a house on Center Cross Road.
Rural Metro responded to that home around 8 p.m. after a passerby told the homeowners about the fire.
Crews quickly put it out. It caused minor fire and smoke damage to the home.
Firefighters said the cause was electrical.
