KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The Knoxville Police Department said they're investigating after a man was shot during a robbery at a short-term rental property.
Officers responded to a home in the 1700 block of 8th Ave. around 2:40 a.m. Tuesday, KPD said.
The 44-year-old victim told officers he was awoken by two masked and armed people. The suspects then reportedly robbed the victim, assaulted him and shot him, KPD said.
The victim was transported to the University of Tennessee Medical Center for treatment for non-life-threatening injuries, according to KPD.
The suspects, described as younger males, fled the scene, according to KPD.
The investigation into the shooting is ongoing, KPD said.
