Ripley's Aquarium in Gatlinburg needs your help to name three penguin chicks

The three baby penguins were born recently, and the aquarium wants help naming them!

If you can't get enough of naming cute baby animals, then boy have we got news for you!

Ripley's Aquarium of the Smokies welcomed three new African black-footed penguin chicks and needs help naming the birds. Right now on the aquarium's website is a form to name the two girls and a boy.

Name submissions will be taken until Sunday, March 4. The aquarium will then include the top submitted names in a voting contest on March 7.

Two of the penguins were born from parents Haley and Glen, and a third was born from parents Nick and Doza. The aquarium said all three are doing well and are being monitored around the clock by the Ripley Husbandry team.

Last year, Ripley's Aquarium celebrated the birth of its 3rd and 4th African Black-Footed baby penguins on World Penguin Day on April 25.

African black-footed penguins are an endangered species whose population is threatened by a number of things, including oil spills, egg poachers and commercial fishing depleting their primary food supply.

On the heels of this news, Ripley's Aquarium in Gatlinburg was also recently named one of America's Top 15 aquariums people should experience by TripAdvisor.

The website said its algorithm scanned reviews for aquariums perfect for families, rainy afternoon visits, and exploring new cities in the U.S. -- and Ripley's was named of one of them alongside other greats such as the Tennessee Aquarium in Chattanooga and the Georgia Aquarium in Atlanta.

Tennessee and Hawaii were the only two states to have more than one aquarium in the ranking, too!
