Remote Area Medical helped hundreds of patients in East Tennessee during its first free clinic of 2020.
RAM said volunteers were able to help more than 1,500 patients by providing free medical check-ups, dental and vision care. 800 of those arrived on Saturday alone.
RAM said that's approximately $900,000 worth of free medical services.
"There were more than 1,200 volunteers who showed up to help provide these services. In addition to vision and dental services, patients were also able to access a number of medical services, including women's health services, lung screenings, Colorectal screenings, Podiatry services, Mammograms, and more," RAM said.
RAM will be holding more free clinics throughout the year across the state and elsewhere in the world. The next full-service weekend clinic in Tennessee will be held at Cookeville High School on March 21 and 22.
RAM will then return to East Tennessee for a weekend clinic on April 4 and 5 at Walter State Community College in Morristown. To learn how to volunteer, donate or find upcoming clinics, you can learn more on the organization's website.
