POWELL, Tenn. — Temple Baptist Church is mourning the death of Evelyn Sexton, who passed away on Saturday, the church announced. She was 74.
Evelyn was the wife of the late Clarence Sexton, pastor of Temple Baptist Church and founder of Crown College. Clarence died in December 2023.
"Mrs. Sexton's faith has now become sight," the church said on Facebook. "She is at home with her Lord."
On Friday, Nov. 15, the church asked the community for prayers as Evelyn was in the hospital and was feeling "very unwell." It is unknown the condition she was in at the time.
Funeral arrangements have not been announced at this time.
