KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The City of Knoxville announced that Waste Connections will be suspending residential recycling pickup for the rest of this week.
The pause comes as crews work to focus all efforts on collecting residential garbage, according to the city.
The city is asking residents to set out garbage carts until crews can pick them up. The goal is to have all residential garbage services completed by the end of the day on Saturday, Jan. 27.
Waste Connections had to skip a week of service after a severe snowstorm hit the area and caused dangerous travel conditions for multiple days.
The city said recycling pickup will resume its normal schedule on Monday, Jan. 29.
