KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — People in Knoxville and some other areas of East Tennessee will have a few chances to get free healthcare from Remote Area Medical in March and beyond.
A telehealth clinic will be available in different spots across Knoxville throughout at least March and April. At this clinic, people can get services without an ID, but because it's a telehealth clinic, no dental or vision services are available. Telehealth clinics offer people the chance to speak with on-site nurses who walk patients through the process of seeing a doctor online.
They are operated through RAM's Mobile Telehealth Unit. A list of the days and locations where people can find the mobile unit is available below.
Additional telehealth clinics in Knoxville are scheduled in May and June.
A free, in-person clinic is also set for the weekend of March 16 and March 17 in Cookeville, at Cookeville High School. At this clinic, people can find free dental, vision and medical services on a first-come, first-served basis. However, patients may need to choose between dental or vision services due to time constraints. RAM said medical services will be available for every patient.
Another in-person clinic will be held in Cleveland, Tennessee, on March 22 and March 23 at the North Cleveland Church of God, located at 335 11th Street. Volunteers will also held run an in-person clinic at Jellico High School, located at 141 High School Lane, from March 23 through March 24.
