Fountain City corner store celebrating a century of business

Pratt's Country Store is located at the corner of Tazewell Pike and Jacksboro Pike, known for its variety of produce and community pride.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — In 1923, a small store opened in Fountain City. A century later, it is still welcoming people through its doors and filling its shelves with a variety of produce and products.

Pratt's Country Store is located at the corner of Tazewell Pike and Jacksboro Pike and celebrated its 100th anniversary on Friday. Local leaders were expected to appear at the store for the celebration, which included promotional items for sale and a variety of treats. The celebration is expected to extend into Saturday.

Visitors would also participate in contests, such as guessing the weight of an adding machine or the number of historic food stamp tokens in a jar. During the celebration, a variety of people spoke at the store's front door as well, especially about their faith and how it inspired them to make the business successful.

A representative from the Knox County Mayor's office also read a proclamation that recognizes the Pratt family's 100-year celebration and proclaimed "Pratt Family Day" in Knox County.
