KCSO: New details revealed in deadly Emory Road crash that killed Knoxville man

The wreck happened near Holgate Lane on West Emory Road, according to the Knox County Sheriff's Office.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The Knox County Sheriff's Office said one person died after a wreck near Powell Wednesday. 

The person was identified as 23-year-old Daniel Branzuela Bell. The wreck happened on West Emory Road near Holgate Lane around 11:30 a.m., according to KCSO. 

Rural Metro Fire said two cars were involved in the crash. 

According to the crash report, a witness said they saw Bell's vehicle speed past them heading eastbound on Emory Road. They said they then saw Bell's vehicle fishtail and spin out of control before it crashed into the front end of another vehicle on the westbound side.

Bell died at the scene. KCSO said he was not wearing a seatbelt.

The driver of the other vehicle, a 27-year-old woman from Powell, was taken to the University of Tennessee Medical Center for a possible injury.
