KFD: Crews responding to brush fire near Sharp's Ridge, Bruhin Road closed

Smoke drifted up from near Sharp's Ridge Tuesday afternoon. The Knoxville Fire Department said crews responding to a brush fire there.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Smoke drifted up near Sharp's Ridge in North Knoxville on Tuesday, as the Knoxville Fire Department said crews were responding to a brush fire.

KFD said the brush fire was located near Bruhin Road at around 5:15 p.m., along I-275. They shared an image showing two fire trucks parked while crews responded to the fire and said Bruhin Road was closed.

At around 5:45 p.m., KFD said crews were still spraying some areas, and said the road was closed between Watauga Avenue and Breda Drive. The department said it could be up to half an hour before the road reopened.

Information about how it started and whether any structures were threatened, or if any injuries were reported, was not immediately available. This story will be updated when more information is available.
