KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Rossini Festival this month will grow into a two-day event, the Knoxville Opera announced Monday.
The downtown weekend festival is set for April 20-21.
This is the first time the festival has expanded from one day to two days. Admission is free.
It features live music across several stages, food, drinks and crafts and collectibles.
Among the highlights is the International Street Fair. Downtown streets are closed off to traffic so that pedestrians can wander among booths, stages and outdoor acts.
On Saturday night, April 20, musical attractions will include the band Teen Spirit, set to play at 8 p.m. Afterward, there'll be a silent disco on Market Square.
Rossini Festival also this year is offering a "VIP Experience" that will include exclusive access to a reserved area where people can enjoy food, beverages and private restrooms. As part of the experience, there'll be wine tastings, cheese pairings and a performance by artist Flora Hawk, according to the opera.
Gold tickets for the VIP Experience are $90 and platinum level tickets are $115, according to the opera.
The opera has produced professional opera productions more than 40 years.
